Psych!

After the Soul Affair’s funky rock special the other week, there was a whole load of stuff that I couldn’t shoehorn in (despite shamelessly hogging the decks). I found myself searching out those choppy guitars, that needle-in-the-red flange & delay and all that other good stuff. So I put a mix together, trying to capture that murky hinterland where the longhair drummer gets funky.

If nothing else I hope it strengthens the Donovan revival. That guy is seriously underrated. And that line from “Season Of The Witch” about “beatniks out to make it rich”? That could describe the entire music industry since 1966.
